Think about your schooling up until now. What teachers have been the most effective in teaching you? What did that teacher do to help you learn the skills from that class? For example, I remember a middle school social studies teacher who had us race to see who could finish the state song the fastest. Maybe you have heard it…Alabama and Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, and Connecticut and more…and so on. Another teacher, whom I remember distinctively, started each class period with a corny/silly joke to get us loose and relaxed for what we were going to learn.

Basically, I want to know what teachers have done that has helped you learn and make you want to learn. However, I am NOT looking for what makes you like a teacher; rather, I am interested in learning about what teachers do to encourage your success.

Please respond to the following two prompts:
1. Think of the best teacher you have ever had. How did they inspire you to learn? What do you remember about the class and what the teacher taught you? What specific things did the teacher do to help you learn? Your response should between 4 and 7 sentences.

2. Now, think about a teacher who did not inspire you. What did this teachers do that squashed your imagination? What was the worst thing about this teacher's class and why? If you have never had a teacher like this, then what do you think would squash your learning? Write down these examples. Your response should be between 4 and 7 sentences.

Reminder: You will be evaluated on your ability to follow the prompt (stay on topic) and use correct conventions (CUPS) throughout your response.

Special Note for 2nd Period: Remember to double check that your subjects and verbs agree!

I look forward to reading your posts.
